Noise is one of the most significant environmental impacts from airports and for many of our local residents it represents one of the main causes of annoyance associated with living near Bristol International Airport. BIA operates a noise management strategy which includes:

• Restrictions on night flying through the operation of a night noise quota system;
• Restrictions on engine ground running and use of auxiliary power units;
• Noise abatement procedures for departing aircraft;
• Monitoring of aircraft noise using noise monitors located in Felton and Congresbury;
