In February 2005 Bristol International commenced its first stage of public consultation and published a Master Plan Statement of Intent setting out a broad overview of the potential options for the development of the airport and impacts of growing to eight to nine million passengers. At the same time we sought your views on the issues and concerns that you felt we needed to consider as we developed our Master Plan further.
In October 2005 the second phase of consultation began with the publication of our Draft Master Plan (3mb). This document provides detailed information on the proposals for expansion until 2015, based on developing the Airport to handle nine million passengers per annum. We have considered the social, economic and environmental impacts of our proposals and the draft Master Plan provides a preliminary appraisal of these issues.
The second phase of consultation ended on 12th December 2005. The responses received were reviewed and the Consultation Outcomes & Analysis Report (pdf: 1.5mb) is available for download. Following full consideration of these comments on the draft Master Plan, the final Master Plan was published and submitted to Government, in line with their requirements, in November 2006. A detailed planning application, supported by an Environmental Statement, Transport Assessment and other technical documents, will be submitted for an extension of the terminal building and other associated developments later in the year.
