Things to do in Split
Visit the Diocletians’ Palace
The ruins of the Roman Emperor Diocletian's palace (a world heritage site) date back to the late 3rd to early 4th century A.D.
Wander through the old town
In the centre of town, within the ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace, rises the majestic cathedral surrounded by a tangle of marble streets containing shops and businesses.
Relax at the beach
The entire western end of town is a vast, wooded mountain park with beaches below and pathways above.
Stroll along the harbourside
A refurbished harbourside promenade lined with cafés makes for a pleasant stroll, and the high coastal mountains set against the blue Adriatic provide a striking frame.
Explore the surrounding islands
Lying just 13km off the coast from Split, the island of Brac is a really popular destination, both as somewhere to go for a day and, better by far, somewhere to stay for a few nights.
