Things to do in Kos

Asklepieion
  1. Visit Nisyros, a small volcanic island to the south of Kos

A popular day trip destination, the Nisyros island volcano is still active and the most recent activity was an explosion in 1888. The island also boasts four uninhabited monasteries, a medieval castle and ‘soumada’ a non-alcoholic almond, tomato and honey cordial.

  2. Explore Asklepieion, one of the most important classical sites in Greece

Built in 300 BC after the death of Hippocrates, Asklepieion was dedicated to the healing of the sick according to the practices of the father of modern medicine.

  3. See the Venetian Castle of the Knights of Saint John

Built in the 15th century, the Venetian Castle can be admired in the capital of Kos and provides a fine example of defensive architecture at the time.

  4. Have fun at the Lido Water Park

With so many slides to chose from, there is something for everyone from the young to the young at heart at this fabulous water park.

  5. Go mountain biking at Kardamena

Hire a bike or join a tour, from the beginner to the serious cyclist, there are many tracks which make mountain biking the perfect way to see the beautiful island of Kos.
