News Release (02/11/09)
Having been selected to operate the new tax & duty free store at Bristol International Airport, WDF is pleased to announce that trading under the new World Duty Free fascia began at 4am on Sunday 1st November. The new store will reflect WDF’s commitment to delivering unbeatable value, outstanding product choice, exciting store environments and world class customer service.
Handing over from the previous evening, a core project team and volunteers from the business will work through the night to change all the systems, install the new temporary signage and marketing materials and completely restock the shelves with approximately 44,000 units of 5,500 products.
The redevelopment of the site begins week commencing Monday 2nd November aiming to complete the brand new 1,076 square metres of retail space for Spring 2010. The new ‘walkthrough’ store will be 40 per cent larger than the current concession, and will offer a more extensive range of products across all categories including liquor, beauty, accessories and confectionery. The store will also offer a range of local products as part of a strategy to support local businesses and promote the ‘Best from the West’, and celebrate the region’s reputation for good quality food and drink.
In addition to the main World Duty Free store, a specialist concession store from WDF called Collection will also be launched at Bristol Airport, focusing on luxury accessories including sunglasses, watches and jewellery. This 61 square metre store will be trading by the end of 2009.
