Created: 29th Apr 2016

bmi regional is expanding its Bristol network to add a new seasonal route to the island of Jersey.

On sale from today and commencing on 16 July, the weekly flights will depart on Saturday direct from Bristol to Jersey. With fares from just £80 one way or £125 return, the route offers excellent value for money.

Jersey is just a short flight from Bristol yet takes travellers to another world where pretty villages, historical attractions and beautiful sandy beaches await.

Highlights of a holiday to the island include visiting the underground tunnels from World War II including the German Underground Hospital. Jersey has more than its fair share of castles including the impressive Mont Orgueil Castle, here visitors can explore staircases, towers and secret rooms to discover how the castle has stood proud over the island for more than 600 years, protecting islanders from French invasion. Other attractions include Durrell Wildlife Park, famed for its conservation efforts, La Mare Wine Estate and Jersey Pearl.

The natural gradient and size of the island makes Jersey in ideal destination for cycling. Holidaymakers could easily get around the entire island by bike, taking in key attractions and beaches en-route. Foodies, meanwhile, can immerse themselves in Jersey’s gastronomic scene which has seen influences from the UK, France and Germany result in a number of world class restaurants including three with Michelin stars.

There is not a shortage of places to stay on the island either with a wide choice of hotels, cottages, B&Bs and campsites.

bmi regional also recently increased its rotations and improved flight times on its existing routes out of Bristol.
