The European Commission has announced that the winner of the race to become European Green Capital 2022 is Grenoble, a title previously held by Bristol in 2015.

The French city is served by easyJet from Bristol which presents travellers with a fantastic opportunity to enjoy carbon neutral travel from door to destination when flying with easyJet from Bristol Airport.

In 2019 Bristol Airport announced that it had become the first airport in Europe to offset all passenger journeys to and from the Airport by road.

James Shearman, Head of Sustainability at Bristol Airport, said:

“Our commitment to offset carbon emissions from passenger journeys by road is clear, immediate action and something we are immensely proud of. Furthermore, supporting the efforts of our largest airline customer easyJet, we have a created a carbon neutral door to destination journey.”

easyJet – which operated more than 50 per cent of flights to and from Bristol Airport in 2019 – became the first major airline to offset carbon emissions from fuel used for all of its flights.
