In recent years Bristol Airport’s staff, business partners and customers have raised in excess of £255,000 for a variety of charities, which includes; Weston Hospicecare, The Jessie May Trust, The Cots for Tots Appeal, The Tsusami, NSPCC (Bristol Teacher Training project), Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Springboard Opportunity Group, Macmillan Cancer Care and Children in Need.
Children’s Hospice South West provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions. Charlton Farm, our local hospice in Bristol, supports families from Bristol, Bath, and Somerset. Due to the complex medical needs of their child, many of the families supported by Charlton Farm are simply not able to go abroad for a holiday and rest – instead they come to Charlton Farm.
We do everything we can make the most of every moment a very sick child has with us and with his or her family. That includes one-to-one specialist care, fun times through play, music, outings and crafts -simple pleasures that many of us take for granted. Charlton Farm is a very special place, with tailor-made, family-friendly facilities. Soft play rooms give every child a safe place to laugh and play, sensory rooms provide a calming or stimulating environment for children with very special needs. The family room is a place for everyone to relax together whilst the children’s bedrooms feel like home.
