In recent years Bristol Airport’s staff, business partners and customers have raised in excess of £190,000 for a variety of charities, which includes; Weston Hospicecare, The Jessie May Trust, Wallace & Gromit - Cots for Tots Appeal, The Tsusami, NSPCC (Bristol Teacher Training project), Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Springboard Opportunity Group and Children in Need.
Bristol Airport is keen to support local charitable causes and each year employees nominate a charity, which they electively fundraise for throughout the year. For 2012 the charity selected by staff is Children’s Hospice South West, the charity provides the only residential hospice care in the region and supports children, and their families, with life-limiting conditions.
With more than 1,000 families with life limited children in the South West, they provide care for around 600 families; both those with life limited children and families that have sadly lost a child. The Bristol hospice, Charlton Farm in Wraxall, is a place where families go for respite and relaxation, laughter, friendship, expert palliative and terminal care and support for the whole family right through into bereavement. The hospice is a place full of love and laughter where families can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again and receive the very best care for their child.
