Bristol International recognises its responsibilities towards the care for the environment and as a good neighbour to our community.  To reinforce this, BIA has developed an environmental policy which states:

"BIA is committed to controlling the adverse effects of its operations and minimising their impact on the environment and the local community, whilst seeking to maximise the positive benefits from continued growth of the airport."

We will do this by:

  • Identifying, monitoring, managing and reviewing our environmental effects. We will prepare environmental management plans and include measurable environmental targets in our business plans.
  • Developing our employees to raise environmental standards by ensuring that they are well informed, well trained and committed to the environmental improvement process.
  • Working with our business partners to raise standards and encouraging them to adopt environment policies and management systems. BIA will take a central role in co-ordinating and driving forward performance improvement.
  • Striving to be a better neighbour by engaging the local community in a two way dialogue to understand their needs and playing an active part in meeting these needs.
  • Integrating sustainability principles into our business processes and decision making.
  • Transparent reporting of our performance and progress.
  • Meeting or exceeding all legal requirements.
