Guidelines for commercial filming and photography

Commercial filming opportunities are available at Bristol International Airport. The charges and conditions of filming are set out below and must be strictly adhered to.

Charges

Landside £300 per hour.

Anywhere inside the airport perimeter including:

  • Car Parks
  • External shots of Terminal building
  • Road ways
  • Old terminal building

Inside the terminal building PRIOR to security and passport control including:

  • Check in and Arrivals
  • Landside restaurant and shops

Airside £500 per hour.

All areas which require security clearance including:

  • Departures lounge
  • Airside restaurants and shops 
  • Business lounges
  • Aircraft boarding area (Apron)
  • Baggage reclaim

Escorts £160 per escort for up to 4 hours, £320 per escort for up to 8 hours.

1 escort is required per 6 people to be escorted.

Examples of charges

For 7 people to film 2 hours landside, 3 hours airside:

2 hours filming landside @ £300 - £600
3 hours filming airside @£500    - £1500
2 escorts for up to 8 hours         - £640
Total                                          - £2,740

Please be aware that in certain situations administration charges may be added at the discretion of airport management.

Conditions of Filming at Bristol International Airport

Bristol International reserves the right to interrupt or halt any filming and photography in progress without notice.

Security procedures may not be filmed.

Customers/staff may not be filmed or interviewed without the prior written permission of Bristol International Airport or the Airline/Tour Operator.

Branding and signage of business partners and airlines must not be filmed without the permission of the operator concerned.

Start and end times for filming must be agreed in advance and must be strictly adhered to.

Film crews must be accompanied by an escort from Bristol International at all times. For airside filming, 1 escort per 6 people is required for security reasons.

Health and Safety requirements must be complied with at all times. A full risk assessment must be undertaken by the film company and this assessment plus plans and filming schedules must be submitted in advance to the Health and Safety Manager at Bristol International.

A copy of your insurance policy must be submitted. For high risk activities, there must be £10 million of cover; for low risk, £5 million is required.
Filming with live animals has different restrictions – the use of any animal may be subject to stringent control measures. For specific information, please contact the Marketing Dept at the address given below.

To book filming, 7 working days notice is required.
