Bristol Airport advise that it is the passengers responsibility to ensure that the number of bags presented at Security Search is compliant with their Airline's allowance - this is in order to avoid refusal of carriage at the boarding gate.

easyJet only allow one piece of hand luggage at the gate which includes handbags and laptop bags.  In addition, each passenger at Bristol Airport can take on one piece of Duty Free shopping purchase in the departure lounge.  All other bags are open to additional charges at the gate.

Baggage Guidelines

• Clearly label all bags with your name and your destination address
• Ensure you pack your own bag and do not allow anyone to tamper with them
• Do not carry anything belonging to others or carry gifts on behalf of others
• Never leave bags or personal belongings unattended in the terminal building. Unattended bags and belongings are considered a security risk and may be removed or destroyed
• Observe the weight allowance for hold and hand baggage as allocated by your airline and detailed on your ticket
• Do not pack any sharp or restricted items in your hand luggage.

Security

Before entering the departure lounge all passengers must pass through security. You will be asked to produce your boarding card for inspection before being screened. All hand baggage will be passed through an X-ray scanner and should be kept to a minimum. Liquid Restrictions

The guidelines for travelling from all UK airports state that liquids are only permitted when in containers of 100ml or less. Liquid containers must be placed together in a 20cm x 20cm re-sealable, transparent plastic bag and presented separately at the search point. A maximum of ten containers holding 100ml are allowed (1 litre of liquid). Liquids can still be packed in bags that are checked in, as the restrictions only apply to hand luggage. Dangerous and Prohibited Items

Dangerous items

The following items are not permitted to be carried either within hold or hand luggage:

Explosives:	e.g. Fireworks, flares, ammunition, party poppers
Gases:	e.g. Propane camping gas, compressed gas cylinders
Flammable liquids:	e.g. Lighter fluid, thinners, petrol
Flammable solids:	e.g. Fire lighters, Magnesium
Oxidisers:	e.g. Bleaches, car body repair kits
Toxic/Infectious substances:	e.g. Weed killer, infected blood samples, insecticides
Radioactive materials:	e.g. Medical or industrial sources
Corrosives:	e.g. Dry ice, magnetised material, Mercury

 Prohibited items

The following items are not permitted to be carried in the cabin of the aircraft but may be included in hold baggage:

• Any firearm, component part or ammunition
• Toy guns (plastic or metal)
• Knives with blades of any length, including letter openers, made of metal or any other material strong enough to be used as a potential weapon (but excluding Kirpans of a length not exceeding 7.5cm worn by authorised persons other than passengers and which are being carried for religious reasons
• Catapults
• Razor blades (unless permanently set into a fixed cartridge, e.g. a disposable razor)
• Tradesmen's tools that have the potential to be used as an effective weapon
• Darts
• Scissors (except where both blades are round-ended)
• Hypodermic syringes (unless required for medical reasons)
• Corkscrews
• Large sporting bats and clubs (e.g. baseball & softball bats, golf clubs, cricket bats, but excluding tennis, badminton & squash rackets)
  Billiard, snooker or pool cues
• Liquids including gels, pastes, creams, contents of pressurised containers, drinks, soups, syrups, deodorant, shaving gel or foam and aerosols, unless in a container with a capacity no greater than 100mls. View Liquid Guidelines >> 

N.B The above list is not definitive. Any other article which in the reasonable contemplation of the Aerodrome Manager or Aircraft Operator might be used or adapted for causing injury or incapacitation of a person will be confiscated.  At Bristol Airport knitting needles and lazer pointers are deemed to be such articles.
