Immigration

Heightened Security checks at all Border Controls across the UK have recently been enforced by the Home Office, the ''tougher checks'' campaign is essential to strengthening our Border control points.

New technology has improved security of the border control checks and 100% of all passports will be scanned throughout the UK. These security checks, which will further enhance our Border control may result in increased waiting times at all ports. However, the vast majority of the travelling public (over 80%) think it is reasonable to wait a little longer to allow for thorough control checks, particularly at this time of heightened security.

We are working hard to ease congestion at Bristol Airport, but our prime consideration must be the safety and security of the UK

Border Control

The UK Border Agency manages Border Control for the United Kingdom, enforcing immigration and customs regulations.

With tougher checks now in place at all UK ports of entry you may have to wait a little longer to get into the UK. Officers scan passports and cross check passengers details to make sure that only those eligible to enter the country can do so, please cooperate with Officers if they ask you any questions about your stay or your luggage.

During busy periods when several flights are being processed at the same time please help by having your passport open and ready for examination on the photograph page to ensure you pass through as quickly as possible.

If you are not a British / EU or European Economic Area passport holder, you must complete a landing card provided by the Airline you have travelled with, please ask your Airline to provide you with a landing card to complete during your journey to the UK.
