News Release (10/11/08)
In response to growing demand from international visitors, Bristol International has made web pages containing useful information available in five different languages. The multi-lingual facility will be available on the airport web site (www.bristolairport.co.uk) and will provide German, Spanish, Italian, French and Polish passengers with essential travel information about the airport and the surrounding area.
Despite Bristol International’s web site previously being available only in English, 10 per cent of users so far this year have been of international origin. Figures also indicate that international inbound traffic is increasing, with recent surveys showing almost 16 per cent of passengers using the airport are making journey’s originating outside the UK.
Information now available in five additional languages includes details of immigration procedures, onward travel options (including car hire and the Flyer express coach service) and facilities at the airport. The pages will also link to tourist information web sites for Bristol and Bath, enabling visitors to find out more about sights and attractions in the region.
Robert Sinclair, Chief Executive of Bristol International Airport, said:
“Bristol International is the gateway to the South West for overseas visitors, so it is important we make a great first impression. Increasingly this process starts before passengers even set foot in the airport, and making information available in a range of different languages is part of the warm welcome we want to provide.”
