Introducing the next generation technology  

The next generation of Security Search technology eliminates the need for passengers to remove items from their bags, transforming airport security search and creating an easier passenger experience.  

The rules from 17 July 2025 are as follows:

New requirements

No change to requirements
  • Liquids, laptops and electronics can be left in hand baggage.
  • Metal bottles must be taken through empty.
  • Empty pockets into bag.
  • The maximum size of a liquid container will be 2 litres. Clear plastic bag is no longer required and liquids must fit inside your hand baggage. Please ensure your hand baggage meets the weight and size requirements of your airline.

You will still need to remove your coat, jacket, hat, scarves, high heels and boots and place in the tray.
