Charity of the year
In recent years Bristol Airport’s staff, business partners and passengers have raised over £300,000 for a variety of charities.
Each year the Bristol Airport team vote and select one charity to support. This year Bristol Airport’s nominated local charity is Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) saves lives across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset. Providing emergency care to people who are in a state so critical that they require the specialist skills of the team at the scene of the accident or medical emergency.
GWAAC only treat the most serious cases where a patient has either life-threatening or life-changing injuries. From emergency blood transfusions to roadside amputations, performing caesarean sections or treating cardiac arrests, the crew bring the skill and expertise of an Accident and Emergency Department to the patient.
