Bristol Airport responds to the PM's speech on Monday 5 April

Dave Lees, CEO, Bristol Airport said:

“We know there is a pent-up demand for air travel and customers are wanting to travel as soon as possible. Results of a recent customer survey (9,800 responses), 86% customers confirmed they are planning to fly within the next twelve months the reasons for flying vary and include business purposes, visiting family and friends and the well-deserved family holiday.  We look forward to the Global Travel Taskforce findings this week and their commitment in developing a plan for the return of safe international air travel ahead of summer 2021. Aviation and the travel industry needs urgent Government clarity of the next steps to take to resume air travel. We will continue to work with Government on all the measures required including whether its vaccination certification, affordable testing and working across international borders to provide customers the reassurance necessary which will help restart flight operations when the time is right.”
