Bristol Airport Announces Epic Fundraiser to Support Children's Hospice South West
Created: 17th Jun 2026Bristol Airport has announced an epic cycle fundraiser to mark Children's Hospice Week 2026.
Every year ‘Together for Short Lives’ hosts the awareness week to focus on the incredible work that children’s hospices do and raise much needed funds across the UK.
The Bristol Airport team has released details of a charity bike ride that aims to raise tens of thousands of pounds for Children’s Hospice South West, it’s 2026-27 charity partner of the year.
In its biggest challenge yet, staff from the Airport will embark on a 160-mile bike ride from Tenby in Wales to the Airport, visiting Children’s Hospice South West’s Charlton Farm Hospice in Wraxall en-route. While there will be some flat coastal cruising, the team will also face some punishing hills.
The fundraiser will be held on 10 and 11 September, and Airport colleagues will be joined by business partners who work at the Airport and representatives from Children’s Hospice South West, in a bid to raise as much awareness and funds for such a great charity.
Anna Ross, Head of Fundraising, Charlton Farm
“We are incredibly grateful to the Airport team and their partners for taking on this inspiring challenge in support of Children’s Hospice South West. Every mile cycled will help us continue providing vital care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. We’re looking forward to welcoming the cyclists to Charlton Farm and wish them the very best for their journey.”
Andrew Goodenough, Infrastructure Director at Bristol Airport, said:
“Bristol Airport’s partnership with Children’s Hospice South West got under way in January. Fundraising events have already taken place including plane spotters evenings, a Tough Mudder and a charity golf day, which was held earlier this month and raised an impressive £30,000. As an Airport team, we are now challenging ourselves to go a step further and to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a great cause by taking on an ambitious 160-mile bike ride from Tenby to Bristol Airport.”
In 2025 more than 35 cyclists took part in a similar bike ride challenge arranged by the Airport from the Brunel Museum in London to Bristol, to raise money for Great Western Air Ambulance. An incredible £90,000 was raised through sponsorship and donations
