New Restaurants are arriving at Bristol Airport including a home-grown Bristol Brand

Bristol Airport will be welcoming a home-grown Bristol company, among three other new brands as part of the next exciting phase of its £400 million transformation plan, which will feature a more spacious departure lounge.

The first phase of the departure lounge transformation will include four new restaurants. The first to arrive in early Summer 2027 will be Bill’s, which can only be found at one other UK airport. Shortly afterwards Bristol-born Cosy Club will be opening for the first time in an airport location. Followed by international restaurant, wagamama, and a new bespoke bar and kitchen, Tap + Brew, which will be partnering with a local craft beer company.

Bill’s, which will be operated by Avolta, is designed to be a welcoming space for everyone, from families and friends to business travellers and holidaymakers will offer plenty of seating alongside its much-loved all-day dining menu. Whether guests are grabbing breakfast before an early flight, enjoying lunch or sitting down for dinner, they'll find fresh, seasonal dishes full of bold flavours, alongside a wide selection of drinks. The menu also features an extensive range of Coeliac UK-approved gluten-free options, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Beth Brewster, Senior Coordinating Director for Avolta F&B (UK) said:

“We are really excited to bring Bill’s to Bristol Airport, marking the brand’s second airport location in the UK. Bill’s is a well-loved restaurant concept, and its arrival reflects Avolta’s focus on delivering relevant, high-quality food and beverage experiences in the airport environment. We look forward to opening in 2027 and welcoming passengers to a new dining option that will enhance their journey through Bristol.”

Tom James, Managing Director at Bills, added:

“Bristol Airport is such an exciting project to be involved in. As a key travel hub with such a large catchment area, the development and growth of this fantastic Airport is something we are very proud to be part of. Bill’s is finding a great new home in the airport environment, and the opportunity to delight the thousands of passengers from families to solo travellers travelling from Bristol each week is something we are really looking forward to.”

Operated by TRG Concessions, the second to open is Bristol-based Cosy Club, part of the Loungers Group, which in 2002 opened its first restaurant, Lounge on North Street in Bristol. It was founded by three friends, Alex, Jake and Dave who wanted to create the type of neighbourhood café they’d like to go to. Since their first days as the Lounge, their brand portfolio has grown to include Cosy Club, Brightside and the soon to open Southville in Germany. Cosy Club now has 37 restaurants in the UK and is a firm favourite among those who live in the South West, with Cosy Clubs in Bristol, Cardiff, Taunton, Bath and Exeter.

Cosy Club's Departures menu at Bristol Airport will deliver the same food travellers know from Cosy Club, with delicious breakfasts before those early morning take-offs, smaller plates for those who'd rather travel light, and dishes that feel like a treat before boarding. The menu is built including named west country suppliers like Baker Tom in Cornwall, which bakes the monkey bread daily, and Philip Warren Butchers, which supplies the dry-aged, grass-fed beef for the burgers. Vegan and gluten-free options are offered, and there's a dedicated children's menu, so all the family can enjoy a pre-flight meal at Cosy Club.

Nick Collins, Loungers CEO said:

“We are really excited about Cosy Club opening in Bristol Airport. We think our all-day menu will represent a real step-up in terms of choice for travellers, and we are really chuffed that Bristol Airport chose us as a local Bristol business to open here.”

Also operated by TRG Concessions, and opening next summer, is international restaurant wagamama, which will bring its signature blend of fresh, fast, flavoursome food. The extensive menu will feature all of its classic dishes including curries, ramen and bao buns, as well as a dedicated children’s menu and vegan options. The restaurant will also be offering wide-ranging breakfast options from eggs and waffles to French toast and granola for early morning travellers. The restaurant will feature its signature communal benches and an open kitchen, allowing passengers to see their food being prepared fresh and served as soon as it’s ready.

Francisco Neves, SVP International at wagamama, said:

"We're excited to be bringing wagamama to even more travellers with the Bristol Airport opening. As demand grows for fresh, high-quality food while travelling, we're proud to make the wagamama experience accessible to more guests wherever their journey takes them."

Jonathan Knight, CEO at TRG Concessions added:

“We’re delighted to be bringing wagamama and the UK’s first airport Cosy Club to Bristol Airport. While each brand offers something different, they share a strong focus on great food, quality and experience. Together, they will give passengers even more choice and variety, while playing an important role in the airport’s evolving food and drink offer.”

And finally next Autumn Tap + Brew, operated by SSP UK & Ireland, will offer local craft beers and cider from Wiper and True, a craft brewer based in Bristol, alongside well-known beers, seasonal specials, as well as low/no alcohol and cocktails. With a distinctive design featuring copper tanks and locally inspired artwork on display, the industrial aesthetics will be combined alongside a range of seating from comfy

leather seats to bar stools with a mixture of tables for solo travellers, couples and large groups as well as standing room. The food menu will pair perfectly with the drinks and feature classics such as fish and chips, burgers and fully loaded nachos as well as hearty breakfasts from a full English to smashed avocado on toast.

Stuart Buchanan, Chief Property and Business Development Officer at SSP UK & Ireland, said:

“In the past 12 months, we’ve invested significantly in our offer at Bristol Airport and are excited to continue this growth with our newest Tap + Brew bar from our own brand portfolio. The airport’s transformation journey marks a new era of travel to, from and within Bristol, and we’re delighted to be at the forefront of what it has to offer for customers living in and visiting the city.”

Kate Gwyther, Head of Retail at Bristol Airport added:

“We’re delighted to welcome these exciting and much-loved restaurants to Bristol Airport. We’re on a mission to offer our customers some really great options to suit their tastebuds, dietary requirements, time and pocket. We really hope they will be spoilt for choice and feel their holiday can begin once they arrive at Bristol Airport whether that’s with breakfast, lunch or dinner.

“Bills is only at one other airport in the UK, and we know it’s going to be a massive hit with customers as will Cosy Club, as it’s such a popular independent restaurant group here in the South West. wagamama, which is no stranger to airports, will also be a welcome addition. We know it will go down a storm with our customers. On top of this we will have a new larger bespoke bar and kitchen, which will feature locally brewed drinks. This is just the beginning of a very exciting transformation for our customers, creating a new level of shopping and dining at the Airport. The departure lounge will feel much more inviting, spacious and brighter with more seats.”

This is the first of many announcements to come, with more units set to be unveiled next year, including coffee shops, fast food outlets, grab-and-go options, premium bars, and a first for Bristol Airport – a hidden speakeasy bar. Central to this transformation is the creation of a new spacious departure lounge, designed to enhance passenger comfort and provide a relaxing environment before travel. The terminal transformation began at the end of last year, with the Airport investing more than £60 million to improve its customers’ experience.

All units will be new, and the redesign will feature significantly more space, almost doubling the number of shops and restaurants. An additional 17 new units are being incorporated into the design, including premium retail brands. The departure lounge will also include around 20% more general airport seating, thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, to ensure passengers can relax and enjoy their time at the airport.
