Bristol Airport Chairty Golf Day Raises Over £30,000 for Children’s Hospice South West

A charity golf day arranged by Bristol Airport has been hailed a major success after it raised £30,000 for the Airport’s charity partner, the Children’s Hospice South West.

Held at The Players Golf Club in South Gloucestershire, the event welcomed 96 players across 24 teams, including many of the Airport’s contractors and business partners.

Andrew Goodenough, Infrastructure Director at Bristol Airport, and Lydia Jacquety, Commercial Development Executive, both co-ordinated the event and brought together a number of participating companies and contractors. Many of these organisations are involved in major Airport developments, including the Terminal Transformation programme, scheduled for completion in 2028. Through their generous support, a significant amount was raised for a highly worthwhile charity.

Children’s Hospice South West is dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives by providing compassionate, expert, family-centred hospice care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions across the South West. Their mission is to help every family facing the unimaginable make the most of every moment together through outstanding hospice care, emotional support and enriching experiences.

The event organisers thanked St Austell Brewery for providing refreshments at the ‘Closest to the Pin’ competition hole and keeping teams hydrated around the course.

Paul Courtney, Director of Fundraising, Children’s Hospice South West:

“We’re absolutely delighted Bristol Airport is hosting this Golf Day to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West. It’s a brilliant opportunity to get out on the course, enjoy a bit of friendly competition and bring people together for a great cause. Events like this play such an important role in supporting the vital work we do for children and families across the South West. As part of our partnership, this is one of a number of fantastic fundraising initiatives the team at Bristol Airport have planned and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued support.”

Andrew Goodenough, Infrastructure Director at Bristol Airport, said:
