Commuting to work
Bristol Airport employees can take advantage of free bus travel and other travel initiatives to make the commute as easy as possible.
Car Parking
As a Bristol Airport employee, you have access to free car parking both while at work and when travelling on holiday. Business Partner colleagues also benefit from free parking at work, along with a 25% discount on holiday parking.
Free travel on the Airport Flyer until the end of 2028
Bristol Airport employees and Business Partner colleagues can take advantage of free travel on the A1, A3 and A4 Airport Flyer bus services when travelling to/from the airport for work purposes until the end of 2028. Discounted travel is also available on the A2 (£3 single, £5 return).
To be eligible for free travel or discounted travel, you must be in possession of either;
- a valid Bristol Airport Security ID Pass or,
- an Airport Flyer Travel Pass (if you’ve applied but not yet received your Airport ID pass) or,
- a Bristol Airport Staff Travel Permit (if you do not require Airport ID for your role)
The scheme should not be used for any other reason or when not on shift.
A1 (Bristol City Centre via Temple Meads)
Available 7 days a week (except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day). During peak times, the service operates up to every 8 minutes and provides a direct connection from Bristol Bus Station via Bristol Temple Meads Station.
A2 (Portishead via Nailsea, Backwell and Clevedon)
Operates once an hour, 7 days a week (except on Christmas day) providing a direct connection from Portishead via Clevedon, Nailsea and Backwell.
A3 (Weston-super-Mare)
Operates up to every 30 mins during the day, and hourly overnight (7pm – 7am), 7 days a week (except on Public Holidays) providing a direct connection from Weston-super-Mare (Railway Station) via Worle, Congresbury and Cleeve.
A4 (Bath)
Operates 7 days a week, all year round except on Christmas Day and with a variation to service times on Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The service operates hourly between 02:30 and midnight The service provides a connection from Bath via Saltford, Keynsham, and Brislington.
Other services and initiatives
Car Sharing
Bristol Airport has teamed up with the UK’s number one car share company, LiftShare, to offer a quick and simple way to find Bristol Airport and Business Partner colleagues to share a lift with. To encourage employees to car share, Bristol Airport offers dedicated parking spaces within the main Staff Car Park for Liftshare users.
Cycle to Work
For shorter journeys, particularly those under 5 kilometres, cycling is an excellent way to travel to work and build in some exercise to the daily routine. Bristol Airport provides secure cycle parking facilities for employees as well as shower and changing facilities. Employees are also able to access the CycleScheme to help with purchasing a new bike.
